BLIA EMBLEM

1.     Roundness represents wholeness and an absence of impediment. A circle has neither a beginning nor an end. It symbolizes the perpetual and continuous enlightened mind that journeys throughout the world without hindrance, thus enabling the constant turning of the Dharma wheel. Within this roundness, the lotus flower blossoms, signifying the embodiment of purity. As we pledge our bodhicitta spirit in the perfect dharma realms, our mind blossoms like the lotus flowers, spreading throughout the world. When the light of compassion enters the human mind, it bestows unity that shall ultimately turn the earth into a pure land, and help all beings attain enlightenment.

2.     Roundness represents the worldly (globe); lotus flower represents transcendentalism (purity).  The roundness of our globe represents the secular world, whereas the lotus flower is a symbol of the truth of the transcendental world.  In the world of the latter, there is neither rising nor ceasing; everything is pure and untainted.  As we blend both worlds into one, let the lotus flower emanating from the mud shine its purity and brilliance upon the globe and change this world into a wholesome one.  The embodiment of this combination is the non-duality of the universal truth, the equanimity of the enlightened mind in the midst of the problems of the mundane world.  Let the lotus flower in everyone’s mind flourish so that joy shall reside everywhere throughout this pure land on earth.
