Venerable
Master Hsing Yun was at BLIA South Bay Subchapter presiding over one of
their regular study groups last week. Accompanied by Venerable Tzu Jung,
Secretary General, BLIA World Headquarters, Venerable Hui Chuan, Abbot,
Hsi Lai Temple, and Venerable Yi Chiao, Director, Hsi Lai Temple, the
Master guided more than sixty members and their guests in studying one
of his articles published in the daily column of the Merit Times,
“Between Ignorance and Enlightenment.” He also spoke on the truth of
the Dharma: suffering, impermanence, no self-nature, emptiness, karma,
cause and effect, dependent origination, middle path, prajna wisdom, and
nirvana.
The
Master also answered questions from the group on the South Bay Culture
and Education Center to be constructed this year. He indicated that
education, culture, charity, and Dharma services have always been the
missions of Fo Guang Shan and the new South Bay center will be serving
the community in those areas. |
