2004.11.20 BLIA Delhi University holds its first executive staff meeting BLIA Delhi University

BLIA Delhi University was officially inaugurated during the BLIA 10th general conference; on November 20th the president of BLIA Delhi University, Ven. Bhiksu Satypala (also Head of the Department of Buddhist Studies, Delhi University) presided over the first staff meeting to discuss year 2005 chapter affairs. During the meeting, executive staff members were elected.

Ven. II Jung (Korean Ph.D. student), Ven. Dawa Lama (abbot of Delhi Ladakh Buddhist Vihar) and Mr. Ram Niwas Gautam (Vipassana teacher) were chosen as vice presidents, Ven. Lieu Phap (Vietnamese Ph.D. student) as secretary general, Ven. Ashin Kumara (Burmese Ph.D. student) as treasurer and so forth. The meeting resolved eleven items including forming a translation committee to translate Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s writings into Hindi and other languages, conducting Dharma talks on the Internet, opening a common e-mail account for the Chapter so that all members can use it to communicate, approaching World HQ about holding the Multi-lingual Executive Meeting in Delhi next October, conducting monthly meditation workshops and so on. The meeting ended amicably with everyone pleased to be a member of BLIA and promote Humanistic Buddhism and build a Pure Land on earth.
