        In Buddhism the Monastic order as novice will cultivate three fold training diligently for a certain period. The goal is to eliminate GREED, ANGER, and DELUSION, the enemy in every body. We BLIA Chennai chapter have a few experience in conducting temporary novice that eliminate the affliction. During these training we intended to impart Humanistic Buddhism to integrate humanity in the changing time along with three fold training of morality, meditative concentration, wisdom and Buddha’s Life and Teachings.

 

The task of novice training rests with a monastic, hence we requested  ven. Chuehmen to advice for a monastic. Ven.Chuehmen suggested BLIA Srilanka chapter. Ven Somalankara Nayaka Thero very kind enough, contented  to visit India. Ten Boys and five girls registered to join 10 days novice. Ven Chuehmen sent five sets of CHIVARA from Srilanka, Ven A Wathawa Bhikku Indo-Myanmar vihara donated rest of chivara .Our preparatory committee much grateful for their encouragement.

Pabbja ordination was held on 1May between 8 am to10 am in which three Bhikkus joined, At 6 am-7 am Chanting, meditation, followed by  wash fresh up ,break fast, stories of Buddha life for 2 hours, lunch general knowledge from local guests, meditation chanting, tea break, evening a guest lecture by eminent person s continued up to 9 May.

 

On 9 may disrobing function was held in presence of all parents of novice. Ven P.Somalankara Nayaka Thero requested the parents to organize such camps often in other places in Tamilnadu. Bhanthe can also expressed to help any  willing students to take training as novice for one year free of cost in Srilanka. All the novices specially thanked Mrs Malarkodi Anban for cooking and treating them as motherly care.

Upasaka E Anban, took 3 hours classes a day on Buddha’s life, Teachings, Tripitaka in details to the novice both in English and Tamil, Buddhistsaints and scholors from Tamilnadu,  the parents thanked BLIA Chennai Chapter and all the Ven teacher, for the remarkable camp. Few parents invited Bhanthe to a Dhana programme in their home.

Dr Rajkumar educational trainer talked on self confident on first day. Mr Raju Arumugam, talked about Memory attitude,  Mr S. Senthil, about Buddhist psychology, Ven P MPrasat on Paramis, Professor Balasubramaniam on “History”, Mr Mohan on Karlmarx and Dr Ambedkar, Mr.Pon. Desaraj on Dr Ambedkar,  Mr N Veeramani about good hand writing and drawing, Prof. Muthukumar on Meditation, Dr. Bose  on wealthy health, Mr Padmanabhan on Film institute. Mr Raju Arumugam  taught some funny games, few tasks on human relation and every day spiritual cultivation. On 5th day novices visited Mahabodhi society Chennai, on 6th day novices poured water to plants in Public  road  after cleaning,  on 8th day a group photo program was held special lecture are held up to 10.30 pm.

 

BLIA Chennai Center was a Coconut leaves thatched roof with 2 toilets little inconvenient to novices. Many guest lectures with different brain storming lectures . Last minute content from guests unable to advise earlier to novices. All the parents very happy to see their children as a monk and being trained by a senior monk.
