佛光會的手印

佛光會員見面時,以兩個手印來相互祈福。

BLIA MUDRA

BLIA members use two forms of mudra or hand gesture when they greet each other.

第一個手印是見面時,手掌外翻,用拇指扣住中指,其他三指翹起(如圖所示)。

這個手印有如下意義:

The first mudra is formed by placing the palm outward with the middle finger touching the thumb.  The mudra symbolizes the following:

第二個手印是將雙手合十,中間保留些微的空隙。佛教中這是「蓮花合掌」手印(如圖所示)。

佛光會員用這個手印表示:

The second mudra involves the joining of both palms, with a subtle space left in between.  In Buddhism, it is a symbol of a lotus flower. However, in BLIA, it has the following significance:
